Hi folks I unfortunately changed my skype language so itisn't speaking english anymore tried reinstalling it but that didn't help. How do I get the the list of languages and how will know when it is english not sure any help this is within the skype program I mean. Thanks.
To fix your language in Skype here is how you do it. You should be able to change it back even if you can’t understand it exactly.
1. Open Skype and press alt T to open the tools.
2. Arrow up once and you’ll be on options hit enter. Wait until your screen reader stops talking, so you will go to the places you need.
3. When you hit enter you will be on general settings. Tab 5 times and you should be at language. You might be able to understand that.
4. Press control and your home key to take you to the top of the languages. The first one is Arabic. Make sure you are at the top by pressing the up arrow to check it. If you arrow down 12 times English is the 12th language on the page.
5. Tab 4 times and you will be at okay. Press enter and your language will be back to English.
Wayne's right about almost everything.
Chances are, though, alt+t won't take you to Tools because each language's word for Tools is different.
Instead of doing alt+t in step 1, press alt, wait for the reader to stop talking, then press left arrow 3 times and you'll be on Tools or whatever that language calls it. Then up arrow once to get to Options.
Yes, Leo is correct. That will get you there as well.
However you get there it is what you need. I don't think the controls are any different unless you are using a different screen reader.
If it is Jaws language won't matter in the key strokes.
The alt+t keystroke is set by the application, not the screenreader. It really depends whether skype changes it, which I would expect it does. For example, in spanish it might be alt+c for cubiertos.
Yes, that is what I meant.
